Last year, when Horizon, the development organization for businesses in Flevoland, asked Blueyse to think along on how we could connect, inspire, and highlight ambitious entrepreneurs from the region, we knew we were about to be a part of something special.
In close cooperation with the Horizon team, we set out to create meaningful ways to tell the stories of innovation and impact. We wanted to share the stories of industries and entrepreneurs who dare to dream, who take risks, and who aim to build a new, innovative and sustainable future for Flevoland and beyond.
“Blueyse knows exactly what’s needed to amplify our message. They offer strategic insights, take on operational work, and are a wonderful, dependable sparring partner.” – Safiera van Mastbergen, Communications & Events Manager at Horizon

Inspiration Tables
Over the past year, Blueyse and Horizon co-created a series of inspiring roundtables; content-driven events focusing on key impact topics in Flevoland, ranging from smart agriculture and multimodal transport to dual-use products and services and the energy transition. With these events, Blueyse helped establish a new way of knowledge sharing, connection, and collaboration for entrepreneurs, policy makers and business leaders. The result is a lasting network of people and projects to inspire action, far beyond the event.
Summary of topics
| Smart Agriculture | Multimodal transport | Dual-use Products & Services | The Energy Transition |
| Explored how technology can make agriculture more efficient, sustainable, and competitive in the region. | Explored the possibilities that the developments at the Flevokust bring and shared best practices from established firms like JYSK. | Investigated how products and services can be used for multiple applications in both the civilian and defense sectors. | Focused on accelerating regional innovation and collaborative shifts to sustainable energy and building Smart Energy Hubs. |
Entrepreneurial Stories and Exhibition
At the heart of this innovation lies the entrepreneur, and through a short documentary, we were able to follow the journey of five impact-driven entrepreneurs – Monique, Arie, Hielke, Jacob, and Rick. Pioneers in innovation, they are realizing their vision for the Flevoland of 2050. The documentary follows both their personal and professional journeys, highlighting their creativity, challenges and determination, proving that the region is truly a hub for real innovation and impact.
A traveling exhibition was then created to further showcase the entrepreneurs, starting at The Green Innovation Hub in Almere and ending at the Flevopenningen Gala in Urk, an annual event celebrating entrepreneurship in the Flevoland region. The entrepreneurs and Horizon have received incredible responses from the documentary and the exhibition, with their stories reaching wider audiences and resonating online.

The impact of this project has not only created more awareness of the entrepreneur’s visions and businesses, but also of the opportunities for support that Horizon can provide to develop a new entrepreneurial landscape for Flevoland and the Netherlands.
